Episode 19: Daniel Bell-Drummond

Daniel Bell-Drummond joins Paddy and Trent to discuss the start of Kent's 2023 County Championship campaign and the early signs of the Bazball effect in domestic cricket.
Daniel also dives into his crazy start to professional cricket as a hot young prospect and how he's managed to stay focused since - with summers down under, getting a gig at The Hundred, playing T10 cricket and improving his power-hitting while dominating The Blast. He also tells us what Dave Warner's REALLY like, and describes a night out with Chris Gayle...

Episode 18: IPL analysis & County Championship reflections

Paddy and Trent keep true to their promise and double up!
In the IPL: Harshal Patel's failed non-striker run-out shows us that mankads are only human; Rinku Singh bats with his Winku Singh; and Ben Stokes wears black shoes for CSK.
And the County Championship gets underway: Peter Handscomb scores runs but Trent wants him nowhere near the Ashes squad; Foakes and Crawley stake their respective England claims; and Bazball isn't quite as virulent as first thought.
There's also a fairly loose Village Moment of the Week, which the boys duly dive into.

Episode 17: David Payne

The boys present an exclusive interview with David Payne, left-arm seamer of Gloucestershire, Welsh Fire, and Perth Scorchers fame. He also has one international ODI cap to his name, against the boys in orange in the summer of 2022.
Sid talks to us about winning the BBL, Welsh Fire's prospects at The Hundred, and his emotional England debut - as well as the strict curfew in place after sealing the Netherlands series win.

Episode 16: ACE Programme

Paddy and Trent are back, with a brilliant interview as well as nothing of real value to comment on regarding this week's cricket, but they give it a go nonetheless. WPL final, The Hundred draft, SA vs WI run-fests and being sexually attracted to cricketers are all on the agenda to kick off the pod.

Episode 15: Australia are good again, WPL reflections + IPL preview, SA and WI play a pointless series

Paddy and Trent want to hear from YOU - as the UK cricket season edges ever closer, we want to chat to your clubs and learn about your cult heroes, stories, and what you've got planned for the 2023 summer.
On today's pod we chat: pod-favourite Netherlands beating Zimbabwe, Shaheen Shah Afridi's supreme display of PSL alphadom, and Australia coming good again (have a blow there SKY).
Oscar Ress of Wisden, Cricketer and OE fame joins us for a slightly more informed chat on all things WPL, IPL and SA v WI.
Trent and Paddy then round things up by drafting the most village helmets in cricket, with Trent searching for his maiden victory in the segment.

Episode 14: Ali Orr

After infiltrating the upper echelons of the cricket podcast leaderboards, Paddy and Trent offer pretty dangerous incentives for the listeners to push Outside Edge into the top 10 cricket pods.
We discuss the underwhelming conclusion to the Border-Gavaskar trophy, South Africa returning to winning ways, England being underwhelming in white ball stuff against all odds, and the incredible conclusion to the New Zealand-Sri Lanka test. Village Moment of the Week is revisited and Trent faces his pre-season yips at winter nets with Paddy. 
From 26:10, we are joined by 21-year-old Sussex opener Ali Orr, ahead of the 2023 pre-season after scoring over 1000 FC runs last year as well as Sussex's first ever double-ton in a List A game. We discuss batting with Rizwan and Pujara, a certain Steve Smith visiting the south coast this summer, as well as a draft of the best ways to get out in cricket.

Episode 13: Corey Rutgers (Cricket Spain Head Coach)

Paddy and Trent return, albeit with the sniffles, for a quality return to form on the Outside Edge Podcast.
The boys begin by discussing New Zealand's famous Test win over England, the Aussies finally picking up a victory in India and the WPL kicking off in style. The Village Moment of the Week returns as well.
From 13:07, Cricket España head coach and European Cricket Network commentator Corey Rutgers makes his bow on the pod, to discuss Spain's famous T20 win over the Isle of Man last week - in which they bowled their opponents out for 10 (the lowest in cricket history). Corey, who lives with friend of the show Max O'Dowd, has some brilliant European cricket stories and even brings in Spanish all-rounder Daniel Doyle-Calle for a brief natter.
After finding more popularity on TikTok, the Niche Cricket Shit Draft features once more with Paddy and Trent debating the worst bat stickers of all time.

Episode 12: Sir Alastair Cook and Richard Madley (former IPL auctioneer)

A bumper episode of the pod features a historic chat between Paddy and England's all-time leading run scorer, Sir Alastair Cook.
The Chef quickly chats to Paddy on the role he'd play in Bazball, his bowling, and why Trent can't play off his pads.
From 28:15, the original IPL auctioneer Richard Madley joins the boys to discuss his integral role in the tournament's auctions, featuring the rumour behind Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath's joining in 2008, joining Freddie Flintoff for a few beers and KP being, well, KP.
The Niche Cricket Shit Draft is back from 51:30, Paddy and Trent responding to the Nighthawk's criticism by drafting the wettest things one can do in cricket.

Episode 11: Mason Crane

Paddy and Trent are back with a bang after a short break. From the 10-minute mark we are joined by Mason Crane from Johannesburg, where he is currently turning it square in the SA20.
We talk about some of his favourite debuts, his mentoring by Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill, and the Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns with some of our favourite cricket-related beers.
